Simulate – Validate Your Actual Design
As your design emerges from the concept stage, Kiva
can apply simulation modeling expertise to validate that your
solution will meet expected performance criteria. We've spent
over eight years developing our own discrete-event simulation model
to include extreme fidelity on solution details. Our models
include actual Kiva storage pod configurations and bin sizes,
real-world ranges for human time-and-motion operations and pick
rates, specific customer layouts, equipment travel paths, and
customer order patterns. The model is capable of simulating a
solution running for multiple years that incorporates over 1
million SKUs and more than 1 million order lines per day.

We run these analyses with your SKU data, your order profiles,
your shift schedules, and your building layout. This allows
you to 'see for yourself' how the Kiva solution will operate in
your environment, de-mystifying and reducing project risk.
The process leads to a robust solution with validated:
- Building layouts and movement patterns
- Capacity and throughput
- Equipment counts for inventory storage pods, stations, and
chargers
- Target pick rates, operator utilization and sensitivity
- Operating plans and schedules
